Pomona was once an agricultural city but has now become industrially dominated by commercial buildings with large parking lots (impervious surfaces). While the city may appear to be full of vegetation, there are many areas with sparse plant coverage. An environmental analysis was conducted to help understand which areas of the city were lacking vegetation, specifically trees. --------------------------------------------- ## Additional Notes This item is part of the University of Arizona Libraries 2022 Data Visualization Challenge, which is available here: https://doi.org/10.25422/azu.data.c.5963184 Links: - https://www.treepeople.org/los-angeles-county-tree-canopy-map-viewer/ - https://www.usgs.gov/centers/eros/science/national-land-cover-database - https://www.census.gov/data.html
