This poster investigates the mapping between syntax and prosody, with "either…or…" sentences as a critical case study. There are two competing syntactic analyses for "either...or..." sentences. I present adjudicating evidence from a prosodic experiment, where prosodic boundaries in people's utterances are consistent with the predictions of one theory but not the other. I also argue that prosodic structure reflects syntactic structure more closely than some theories on mapping previously claimed.
