Provided abstract:
This paper contributes to the debate around nominal functional structure and is, in part, a response to Bruening’s (2020) lexical analysis of hybrid agreement in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian (BCS). I show that hybrid agreement in Estonian/Finnish cannot be straightforwardly analyzed as lexical. I thus propose this form of hybrid agreement is, in fact, an argument for nominal functional structure, and I propose one such analysis.
