Endocardial contours were derived at end-diastole and end-systole MRI cine slices using a closed polygon tool (Miele-LXIV) to acquire ventricular area and radius values. The contours were drawn in the indicated regions to acquire measurements: red for anteroseptal wall thickness, purple for ventricular radius, and green for posterolateral wall thickness. Ten wall thickness measurements were collected at both the anteroseptal (infarcted) and posterolateral regions of each swine to calculate EDWS and ESWS. The complete baseline and 1-month post-MI cine sequences from which these figures were constructed are provided as supplementary materials to this manuscript.
